Hand It Over

How can you tell your right hand from your left hand? Your right hand has the thumb on the left. Your left hand has the thumb on the right.  (Always good to know.)

St. Patrick's Day --> Passover --> Easter

The Courting Ritual at Cornell: Whasssup?

Thought you'd enjoy this humorous editorial about the bar scene and collegiate courting ritual that Annie wrote for   The Cornell Daily Sun .  I like when she writes: "Nestled in a remote alleyway in the temperate, deciduous biome of Collegetown likes the unique habitat of Pixel, a forum where coeds congregate to display and act upon their most primal instincts."

Irish Soda Bread / No Peepers!

This year we know what Spring Break is really about. It's about how if we go through one more snow and ice storm, we will break down. Crack up. Wig out. Lose our minds. Our spirit. Our very souls. The Irish Soda Bread I baked for St. Patrick's day isn't even stale yet and we were dumped with another 8-inches of snow. The poor peepers are yearning to pop out and announce springtime in Pound Ridge.

Eleonor Roosevelt and "Good Luck Margarine": An Unlikely Pairing

Who says Michelle O. is the best FLOTUS* in history?  I say it's Eleanor Roosevelt! T his priceless clip just might change your mind.    Click here .   It was pointed out that the commercial was done by Ogilvy & Mather.  David Ogilvy said it was a failure as an ad.  Viewers could only remember Eleanor , not the product. That's funny.  After watching it, all I can remember  is the voice-over saying,  "... Good Luck is light in taste and light on your tongue and it leaves no oily aftertaste. " * First Lady of the United States

Bob Dylan: The Legend. The Brilliance.

Hold the presses. Turn off the lights. Flap open the refrigerator doors. Open the windows. Take the clothes off the line. Bake a country pie. Cross the green mountain. Throw out the bucket of water. Rev up the motor ... my daughter got tix to see Bob Dylan at Cornell. He is my absolute guru and hero. OMG!

Philadelphia Flower Show + The Upcoming Snow

Snow is winding down in the Chicago area, and nosing to the Northeast. Winter getting to you?  Here's a splash of inspiration from the flower show in Philadelphia.  Not only does the "City of Brotherly Love" have Philly Cheese Steaks, and soft pretzels served with mustard, but they know how to throw an excellent flower fest that features the world's largest indoor exhibition of landscape displays, horticultural and floral competitions, and lots of showy posies. Peace out with the following snapshots:
