I was recently at a party speaking with a friend who went on and on (and on and on) for a 20-minute monologue about a recent trip to Bali. She then winged into how brilliant her son is, how athletic her daughter is, and how great, perfect, and amazing her life is. The woman simply did not come up for air. Hellooo000ooo???   How great that Bedford, NY, has the first bookstore EVER in town?  My Stroke in the Fast Lane: A Journey to Recovery appears prominently on the "Local Authors" table. "We are close to selling out your book!" was a note from Bedford Books on my Instagram page last night. Mark your calendars for an upcoming book talk on February 4 @ 6 for Heart Awareness Month. I look forward to telling you about my ongoing journey and the importance of a healthy heart. (Did you know that more women die from heart attacks than cancer??)  The book talk will be at Bedford Books , 13 Court Road, Bedford, NY  10506    ( Stay tuned for more info.) And the answer to my first question: IT'S EPIC!!

    It's my honor to be one of eight selected to represent the American Heart Association for their campaign "2025 NYC ' Go Red! ' Class of Survivors."         Today was "Production Day" in their Manhattan offices. There were lots of photographs taken, and the ace videographers interviewed us for clips they will put together for the campaign.       It was great to meet other stroke survivors, and I have never had the chance to meet someone who had a heart transplant. Each of their stories was truly inspiring. Kudos to the AHA for putting together such an extraordinary group of STRONG women: a sisterhood. As someone in the group called it, "A village." All survivors! Here are a few shots from the interview about my stroke journey and my book,  Stroke in the Fast Lane: A Journey to Recovery.

  My 2 1/2-year-old grandson went up to his bookshelf and pulled two books for me to read to him, WHERE'S BLUEY?  and the other on buses galore. I read each and every word slowly so that I could enjoy the delicious moment.
