ON BECOMING A DOCTOR: "Med-School Rotations & Positive Reinforcement"

Perfectly organized, she even left time for the dog. By 11:00 p.m., my daughter Lucy was still surrounded by so much stuff she still had to pack for her upcoming rotation in Florida.  Why did she wait so long when she could have started packing days ago? My nerves were on the third rail. T he question was:   Can I be upbeat and let her know that I believe in her? After all, my daughter is 28, responsible, successful, going to be a doctor, and plain and simple: she gets sh*t done.   Suddenly, angels were swimming over and around me.
